Lush tropical foliageSt. George Plantation is a private gated community on the west end of St. George Island in the Florida Panhandle. Over 1200 lush tropical acres in the Gulf of Mexico with native cabbage palms and long-leaf pines surround almost 900 home sites.

St. George Plantation offers owners, guests and visitors a community swimming pool, two tennis courts, a 3200 foot paved privately owned/public use landing strip with tie-down area and five miles of paved bike and walking paths. St. George Plantation has 26 board-walks over the dunes for direct beach access. The 24/7 security staff is stationed at the entrance gate and patrols the 17 miles of roads. The full time maintenance staff maintains the common areas, roads, boardwalks and other amenities.

Swimming PoolMany owners are permanent residents while many others have second homes for vacationing. Some owners offer their homes to vacationers for rent through local management companies. Many homes have private swimming pools. Almost all beachfront homes have private boardwalks to the beach.

You arrive on St. George Island via the five-mile long continuous span bridge from the Florida mainland at Eastpoint. The island has a small commercial area with gas stations, banks, a grocery, movie rental, bike and scooter rental, beach gear rental, two small hotels, several good restaurants, an adult beverage store, nature tours, kayaking, playground, public beach with restrooms and real estate offices.

View from the airRegional airports are just two hours away; Tallahassee to the north and Panama City to the west. The area is well known for its excellent variety of Apalachicola Bay and Gulf of Mexico fish and seafood including oysters, scallops, grouper, flounder, redfish, snapper, trout, mullet and others. Apalachicola National Forest, Tates Hell State Forest, St. Vincent National Wildlife Refuge offer unspoiled nature adventures. St. George Island State Park, on the east end of the island, has been rated a Top-Ten Beach and offers camping, picnic facilities, public restrooms and plenty of parking.
