For OWNERS' ONLY: a yearly landing and tie-down fee is available by contacting the Plantation Owners' Association office at (850) 927-2312. The yearly fees are: $100/year for a single-engine plane and $200/year for a twin engine. Transferable between planes. Owner must be present to use permit.

Whether you will be on instrument plan or VFR, you will chat with Tyndall AFB as your final ATC contact. Even if you are VFR, they ask that you make radio contact with them as you first enter their MOAs (which cover the entire Panhandle). Use 124.15 or 125.2 for communication. If the MOAs are "hot" and you are on an IFR plan, they will take you thru the "corridor". That means no matter where you are coming from, you will fly over to PFN and then back along the coast to F47.

Get the weather for F47 on 119.925 (which is AAF's automated weather) or by phone at 850-653-8271. You cannot pick up their ASOS phone on the ground at F47, so you have to use the phone. Many of our owner pilots call AAF (122.8) about 15-20 miles out and report that they will be transitioning their space en route to F47. They will tell you if there is any other traffic in the area. Then they switch to F47 (122.9) and report that they are coming in. Be aware that there are at least 4 other airports on the 2 Unicom frequencies for AAF & F47, so you need to listen carefully.
